Motherhood & Family Photography

more about me

You don’t have to pose perfectly to have meaningful photos.

Forget everything you thought you knew about family photography. You don’t need perfectly coordinated outfits or kids who sit still to get meaningful images. You don’t need to wait until you “feel ready” or until life slows down.

Because it’s not about looking perfect—it’s about capturing real moments. The tiny hands in yours, the belly laughs, the way your baby melts into your arms. These are the memories you’ll want to hold onto.

That’s exactly why I’m here.

Relive the Moments

grab your session now

I recommend scheduling your session around the same time you schedule your maternity session. Your newborn session should take place 1-3 weeks after birth. Babies are still super sleepy and snuggly, making for those sweet, cozy moments.

1. When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?

back

Soft, neutral tones and comfy, natural fabrics photograph beautifully. Think cozy sweaters, flowy dresses, and simple onesies for the baby. Avoid bold patterns and logos to keep the focus on the connection between your family. I have a client closet and a style guide that will be sent once booking is confirmed.

2. What should we wear?

back

No need for a spotless house! I’ll gravitate towards your windows and may move small items to create a cozy space. Focus on tidying up areas like the master bedroom, nursery, and living room where we’ll likely shoot.

3. Do we need to clean or prep our home?

back

Absolutely! Older siblings and even furry family members are more than welcome to be part of the session. We’ll capture natural moments of your family bonding together.

4. Can siblings and pets be included?

back

Don’t worry at all—it’s completely normal! We take breaks as needed for feeding, rocking, and diaper changes. The goal is to capture real, loving moments, not perfection.

5. What if my baby is fussy during the session?

back

Lifestyle sessions focus on natural moments, so I don’t bring elaborate props. However, soft blankets, swaddles, or meaningful items from your home can be incorporated for a personal touch.

6. Do you use props or wraps?

back

Natural light is key! I’ll typically shoot near large windows and may turn off artificial lights for a soft, natural glow. If possible, opening blinds/curtains before I arrive helps create the best setup.

7. How do we prepare for the best lighting?

back

You will receive your final fully edited gallery within 3-6 weeks depending on the season of the year.

8. How long does it take to receive our photos?

back

Booking your session is easy! Just head over to the ‘Contact Me’ page and fill out the inquiry form. Keep an eye on your email—you’ll receive a link to schedule a consultation call where we’ll chat about dates. Once we’ve locked in a date, I’ll send over a questionnaire, contract, and invoice. Your session is officially reserved once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid.

Newborn Frequently Asked Questions

A Fresh 48 session is a lifestyle photoshoot done within the first 24-48 hours after birth, capturing those raw, intimate, and emotional first moments as a new family. These sessions take place at the hospital, birth center, or home (if you had a home birth).

1. What is a Fresh 48 session?

back

Since birth is unpredictable, we’ll pencil in your due date, and you’ll just need to send me a message once you are going into labor and then once you have had the baby! I will likely have to move or reschedule things, that is why I ask to be informed of both the beginning of labor and once you’ve had your sweet baby. Letting me know as soon as possible once you’ve had the baby will allow me to arrive within the 24 - 48 hour mark.

2. When should we schedule our Fresh 48 session?

back

I recommend reaching out to book within the early stages of pregnancy.

3. When should I reach out to schedule my Fresh 48 session?

back

Soft, neutral, and comfortable clothing works best. Think simple robes, nursing-friendly tops, and cozy loungewear. This session typically highlights the raw, real moments of birth and motherhood. For baby, a classic swaddle or simple onesie keeps the focus on those tiny details. Avoid bold patterns and logos to keep the images timeless.

4. What should we wear?

back

No props, no heavy posing—just natural, candid moments and all of the tiny details.

5. Will you use props or pose the baby?

back

Absolutely! Partners, siblings, and even grandparents are welcome to join in for a few photos. Just check with your hospital’s visitor policy first to make sure they allow it.

6. Can siblings and other family members be included?

back

Your health and comfort come first! If needed, we can adjust the session time or even reschedule for an in-home session once you’re feeling better. Just keep me updated, and we’ll make it work.

7. What if we have a C-section or complications?

back

No worries! I’ll find the best light and angles to make the space work. Natural window light is best, so opening the blinds before I arrive helps create a soft, natural glow.

8. What if the hospital room isn’t ideal for photos?

back

I know you’ll be excited to see them! You’ll receive a few sneak peeks within 48 hours and your full edited gallery within 3-6 weeks.

9. How long does it take to get our photos?

Fresh 48 Frequently Asked Questions

Outdoor sessions are best scheduled during golden hour—shortly after sunrise or before sunset—when the light is soft and warm. If that timing doesn’t work for your family, we can find a time that best fits your needs!

1. When is the best time for our session?

back

Neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully, and coordinating (not matching) outfits create a cohesive look. Flowing dresses, soft textures, and layers work great. Avoid bold patterns, neon colors, or large logos, as they can be distracting. I will send my client closet and style guide once booking is confirmed.

2. What should we wear?

back

A client closet is a closet I have for you! Full of beautiful size inclusive and bump friendly dresses, mens shirts and clothes for most kiddos! I will send a client closet and style guide once booking is confirmed.

3. What is a client closet?

back

Don’t stress! I expect a little chaos—it’s part of the magic. My approach is playful and fun, so I’ll guide your little ones into natural interactions instead of forcing stiff poses. We’ll capture their true personalities, whether that means snuggles, giggles, or wild energy!

4. What if my kids don’t cooperate?

back

Absolutely! If there’s something meaningful—like a blanket or a favorite toy you're welcome to bring it along.

5. Can we bring props or personal items?

back

If the weather isn’t ideal, we can either reschedule or find a creative way to make it work (think fun rain boots & umbrellas for a playful vibe!). I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and check in with you ahead of time.

6. What happens if the weather is bad?

back

I have a few favorite outdoor locations that offer beautiful backdrops, but I’m open to suggestions if you have a spot that’s meaningful to your family! In-home, downtown, a big open field, your favorite overlook or the beach are all great spots! We can talk about locations to make this session feel like you!
